This autumn, a brand-new family production from Just Us will travel throughout Scotland.
For kids ages 4 to 7 and their families, A Home for Hamish is a lively, multisensory show that celebrates friendship and imagination through playful storytelling, dance, movement, and British Sign Language.
A Home for Hamish, designed by autistic dance artist Lesley Howard (they/them) and Deaf dance artist Clare Adam (she/they), transports kids to a fantastical world of exploration. At its heart are May and their imaginary friend, Hamish the Haggis, who embark on an unforgettable journey across Scotland in search of the perfect nights sleep. As they climb the tallest mountains, dance with jellyfish, and avoid dragons, they must rely on and support one another along the way, realising that home is more than just a location—it’s the journey you take with friends.
Playfully merging dance, British Sign Language, and immersive sensory design, this 40-minute production creates an inclusive space where all children can see themselves, their languages, and their sensory needs represented and celebrated.
