Known as one of the world’s most difficult endurance competitions, the Clipper Race invites explorers from all walks of life to take on the extraordinary task of racing across the world’s oceans aboard a 70-foot yacht. Teams compete in harsh conditions during their eleven-month circumnavigation in this special event.

In the summer of 2026, the Clipper Race fleet will sail into Oban once more. Additionally, an even larger cultural festival is planned for the next realm of ocean racers, according to Bid4Oban and Argyll and Bute Council, the host port partners.

Oban will be a part of Leg 8: The Atlantic Homecoming, where Race Crew will engage in a fierce downwind battle from North America to the Race Finish port of Portsmouth, UK. With the town’s friendly hospitality and being one of the final stops on the global route, Oban is the ideal location for warm-up celebrations!
