SUMMARY:Scottish Opera: Opera Highlights
DESCRIPTION:Opera Highlights will resume its tour in 2025\, performing at 24 venues throughout Scotland with an original piano-accompanied production. This season’s vibrant and whimsical production by director Rebecca Meltzer and designer Kenneth MacLeod examines and honours Scotland’s diverse landscape.\nThe operatic vignettes\, curated for the inaugural time by Fiona MacSherry\, Head of Music at Scottish Opera\, depict scenes occurring at the nation’s diverse train stations—venues for greetings and farewells\, reunions and departures for new journeys\, where individuals from all backgrounds can coexist and engage equally.  \nSingers Robert Forrest and Scottish Opera’s 2024/25 Emerging Artists Ross Cumming\, Chloe Harris\, and Kira Kaplan perform classic operatic excerpts by Beethoven\, Bizet\, Handel\, Donizetti\, Tchaikovsky\, and others\, under the musical direction of Joseph Beesley.  \nKindly supported by Friends of Scottish Opera and JTH Charitable Trust
