Clan rivalries were present\, but a Gathering featuring traditional sports effectively maintained a sense of unity and peace. \nThe Gathering today is a commemoration of Highland heritage and tradition\, featuring dances\, pipe tunes\, and athletic events that have been practiced for centuries.  It is a day characterised by intense competition and amicable rivalry\, a day dedicated to reestablishing previous connections and forming new friendships. \nRegardless of whether you reside in Oban\, are a tourist\, have ancestral ties\, or are participating in the event\, The Argyllshire Gathering invites you to partake in the magnificent Oban Games.
