Lorn Drama Festival

May 9, 2024 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

One-act plays in Oban performed by amateur drama clubs.

Oban High School
An Inconvenient Crime by Kenneth P. Langer
An intriguing short comedy play. A stranger approaches a couple at their home with an unusual request: he asks if he could possibly rob them that evening—only if it’s convenient for them.

Appin Magnificent Seven
Market Value by Liz Dobson
A comedy in which Martin Oaks is a con man, relying on his solicitors to keep him out of jail. His latest plan is to sell a rat-trap of a house for a quarter of a million to an unsuspecting couple who don’t know it’s falling down and about to be on a major road route. Or so he thinks…

Seil Drama Club
A Bird in the Sand by Caroline Morgan
A three-handed comedy with a sly twist in the tail. Helen spends her days online, she’s a one-woman neighbourhood watch. Sophie, her daughter, is on the last few days of maternity leave. And Robin, well he’s in thrall to three women.
