Beethoven & Mozart in Oban

The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra returns to the Corran Halls in 2026 after a sold-out performance for a programme steeped in folk tradition that is bursting with colour and vitality. Britten’s Suite on English Folk Tunes, dedicated to composer Percy Grainger (famous for Country Gardens), is lively and full of surprises, while Vaughan Williams uses an old folk melody with gentle beauty.
Beethoven’s Fourth Symphony offers grace, humour, and unstoppable momentum, while Mozart’s glittering concerto features soloist Chris Gough of the BBC SSO Section Principal Horn. This programme, which is led by RCS Leverhulme Conducting Fellow Stefano Boccacci, will captivate you from the very beginning to the very end.
Please be aware that the concert will start on time at 7 p.m. and end around 9 p.m.
